Mr. Thierry Leleu

Executive Director and Senior Executive Officer

Mr. Leleu is an experienced C-suite level executive in the private equity real estate sector and in Real Estate Investment Trust Management across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Over the past 20 years, Mr. Leleu has set-up and grown real estate investment management businesses for GE Capital Real Estate and Cromwell Property Group, which acquired the European investment management arm of GE Capital in 2013. Mr. Leleu recently served as Chief Executive Officer of the Equitativa Group where he managed within 12 months a turn-around of the operations of both REITs managed by the group and successfully negotiated the USD 400 million debt restructuring of Emirates REIT, thereby avoiding default.

As European Managing Director of GE Capital Real Estate Investment Management, Head of Funds Management of Cromwell Property Group and Chief Investment Officer of Cromwell European REIT, Mr. Leleu is credited with having restructured legacy real estate funds totalling more than USD 2 billion of assets, raised and deployed in excess of USD 3 billion of equity around bespoke investment strategies, securing adequate debt financing for the vehicles structured and driving the asset management teams to execute on the agreed upon business plans.

Of particular note is Mr. Leleu’s anchor role in setting up Cromwell European REIT which was listed in Singapore in 2017, in growing its assets under management by 50% and driving out-performance to the IPO forecasts for 8 consecutive quarters.
Prior to being an executive in the private equity real estate sector, Mr. Leleu practiced law in New York, Paris and Hong Kong, eventually becoming a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright in 2001. Mr. Leleu holds an LL.M from Harvard Law School, an MBA from Sciences Po Paris and a JD from Paris II Law School.
